How to Configure a Podcast in HubSpot

To configure a podcast in HubSpot, create a podcast show in Content Hub (Professional or Enterprise), complete your show settings, add episodes, and then wrap it in a subscribe form, CTAs, a subscriber list, and a "new episode" email so listeners become contacts you can grow and keep.

What you need before you start

Podcasts are a Content Hub feature available on Professional and Enterprise plans — they aren't available on Free or Starter. Professional accounts can host up to 5 shows and 1,000 episodes; Enterprise accounts can host up to 50 shows and 5,000 episodes. You'll also need the right permissions (Super Admin or Edit access to set up, Super Admin or Publish access to go live), and it's best to connect a primary domain for your podcast before you create or import it.

Step 1: Create your podcast show

In HubSpot, go to Content > Podcasts and set up a podcast show. You'll give it a title, a description, and a language. This is the container your episodes live in, and the title is what listeners see if you distribute the show to external platforms.

Step 2: Complete your show settings

In your podcast settings, add the details that make the show credible and publishable: a host (name, bio, and a square image), a podcast owner email (required to verify your show on platforms like Spotify, and visible on your public feed), square show artwork of 2MB or less, up to two categories, and an explicit-content flag if any episodes need one. Getting these right up front prevents re-work when you distribute the show later.

Step 3: Add episodes

HubSpot gives you several ways to create episode audio: upload your own pre-recorded files, generate audio from text using AI voices, import an existing podcast through its RSS feed, or generate audio from existing content. You can mix section types within a single episode, then add episode details like the title, show notes, artwork, and a transcript. HubSpot can even use the transcript to suggest a title, description, and artwork for you, and you can publish immediately or schedule for later.

Step 4: Turn listeners into subscribers

This is the step that turns a podcast into an audience-growth channel rather than just a file. Build a subscribe form so listeners can opt in and become contacts in your CRM, and place a subscribe call-to-action (CTA) on your blog and resource pages to drive sign-ups. When someone subscribes, HubSpot can add them to a dedicated podcast subscriber list, set the right subscription type, and send a confirmation automatically — the same mechanics that power a well-run email newsletter.

Step 5: Email your subscribers about new episodes

Create a branded, reusable email template your team can clone to announce each new episode to your subscriber list. As long as your sending domain is authenticated and your subscription types are configured, this closes the loop: every episode you publish has a built-in way to reach the audience you've been building.

Step 6: Organize it as a campaign and measure it

Associate your podcast, forms, CTAs, and emails with a marketing campaign so everything rolls up in one place. From there you can share the show on your HubSpot pages and external platforms, and review performance to see which episodes are actually driving subscribers and engagement.

Why configure a podcast in HubSpot

Hosting your podcast where your CRM lives means every listener who subscribes becomes a known, attributed contact instead of an anonymous download. The forms, CTAs, lists, and emails that run the rest of your marketing now feed and promote the show, so you can grow an audience and stay in front of it — and see the results — all in one system. For B2B companies especially, a consistent podcast is a low-competition way to build authority and stay top of mind with the buyers who matter.
