HubSpot Marketing Hub Training

A practical, role-based training program that helps your team actually use Marketing Hub—not just “learn it.”

Marketing Hub is powerful, but it’s also easy to underuse. Teams buy it, set up a few basics, and then plateau—because nobody’s quite sure what “good” looks like, or how all the pieces connect (lists, forms, email, automation, campaigns, reporting).

This training is designed to fix that. It gives your team a clear operating system for how to run marketing inside HubSpot—day to day, campaign to campaign—so you get better execution, cleaner data, and results you can explain.

Marketing Hub helps you attract the right audience, convert them into leads, and nurture them into revenue. It brings your campaigns, content promotion, and automation into one place, with reporting tied back to contacts and deals. The big win is consistency: the same data powers segmentation, personalization, and measurement across every channel you run.

  • Email marketing and automation

  • Forms, landing pages, and lead capture

  • Ad tracking and audiences

Who this training is for

  • Marketing teams using HubSpot today, but not confidently (or not consistently)

  • Teams migrating from another platform and trying to rebuild the right way

  • A new marketing leader inheriting a portal that feels messy or fragile

  • Organizations that want tighter alignment between marketing and sales (handoffs, lifecycle stages, notifications, reporting)

When this training is most necessary

You’ll get the most leverage from this training if any of these are true:

  • Your emails go out, but performance is hard to improve systematically

  • Lists and segmentation are inconsistent (or nobody wants to touch them)

  • Automation exists, but it’s brittle, undocumented, or overly complex

  • Reporting feels unreliable, confusing, or too manual

  • You’re not sure which Marketing Hub tools matter most for your goals right now

The default training package

By default, Marketing Hub training is a three-session crash course built to drive clarity and momentum quickly.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Training intake questionnaire

  2. Planning call (to tailor the sessions to your goals and current setup)

  3. Three live training sessions (45 minutes each, scheduled at a pace that works for your team)

The default package is delivered as a fixed-scope training with flat-fee project pricing.

Structure and term

Default structure: Fixed-scope training package
Default term: Planning process plus three sessions (commonly completed over 2–4 weeks, depending on scheduling)
Default pricing model: Flat-fee project pricing

This is the right fit when your goal is to build capability quickly, get your team aligned, and create a reliable foundation you can build on.

When we expand beyond the default

Some teams don’t just need training—they need reinforcement, coaching, and help translating training into lasting adoption.

If that’s your situation, we commonly expand in one of two ways:

  • Add additional sessions to the crash course (still fixed-scope, still flat-fee project pricing)

  • Move into ongoing monthly training and coaching with a flat monthly ongoing fee (best for change management, new processes, and continuous improvement)

We’ll determine the best approach during the planning call.

Customizing your training (without reinventing the wheel)

Marketing Hub can support a lot of different strategies, and there are plenty of directions training could go. That’s why we don’t start by guessing.

Every engagement follows the same proven process:

  1. Questionnaire to understand your goals, your current setup, and what feels stuck

  2. Planning call to turn that into a clear training plan

  3. Training sessions that focus on what matters most for your team

If you’re not sure what you need yet, that’s fine. The default crash course exists for a reason: it works. But when your business has specific needs, this process ensures the training feels tailored without turning it into a sprawling, unfocused experience.

What you can expect to cover

Every engagement is customized based on the questionnaire and planning call, but most Marketing Hub trainings pull from these building blocks:

  • Marketing Hub fundamentals that matter

    • How HubSpot thinks about contacts, lifecycle stages, and engagement data

    • What “clean” marketing operations looks like in HubSpot

  • Lists and segmentation

    • Smart list strategy (how you segment and why)

    • Naming conventions and list hygiene

    • Using lists to power personalization and automation

  • Forms and conversion paths

    • Form strategy (friction vs. conversion, progressive profiling)

    • Thank-you pages, follow-up emails, and next-step routing

  • Email marketing

    • Newsletter and promotional email best practices inside HubSpot

    • Deliverability fundamentals your team can control

    • Testing, reporting, and improving performance over time

  • Lead capture and lead handoff

    • Defining what a “good lead” means for your business

    • Aligning with sales on routing, notifications, SLAs, and context

  • Marketing automation (workflows)

    • Building workflows that are scalable and easy to troubleshoot

    • Enrollment rules, suppression, and governance

    • Common patterns: nurturing, follow-up, re-engagement, internal alerts

  • Campaigns and planning

    • Structuring campaigns so reporting is meaningful

    • Asset organization and UTM consistency

  • Reporting your leadership will trust

    • Dashboards for executives vs. marketers vs. sales leaders

    • What HubSpot measures well, and where teams commonly misread reports

    • Shared definitions (so “lead” doesn’t mean six different things)

Additional resources you’ll receive

This training is meant to keep paying you back long after the sessions end.

For every training engagement, you’ll receive:

  • Recordings for every session

  • Transcripts for every session (so your team can search and reference them anytime)

  • Access to our core HubSpot documentation and training resources

  • Practical assets like pipeline blueprints and HubSpot implementation workbooks, when relevant

If you need additional documentation tailored to your portal (SOPs, governance, internal playbooks, “how we do this here”), you can request it and we’ll discuss scope during the planning call.

Expected outcomes

When this training clicks, the day-to-day feels different. Your team stops hesitating, stops rebuilding the same things twice, and starts operating with a shared playbook. Marketing becomes easier to execute, easier to measure, and easier to improve—because the system is finally working the way it should.

Teams typically walk away with:

  • Faster execution (less second-guessing, less rework)

  • More consistent segmentation and cleaner automation

  • Better alignment with sales (clearer handoffs, fewer surprises)

  • Reporting that feels less mysterious and more actionable

  • Higher confidence across the team (including new hires)

About The Gist

At The Gist, we’ve helped hundreds of teams get more out of HubSpot—often starting with a portal that’s already live, already messy, and already mission-critical. While we do plenty of implementation work, we’re just as familiar with what happens after implementation: teams want to become more independent, build internal HubSpot fluency, and stop relying on outside help for every move.

This training is built for that exact moment—when the tool is there, but the confidence and consistency aren’t yet.
